Sadly, storms aren’t the only catastrophic event that countries face. In the event, two people were killed, and thousands were injured. On May 15th, 2018, Connecticut saw some of the first tornadoes the state had seen in decades. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a safe room is a hardened structure meant to protect residents from a catastrophic event.
